What is Justice?

Justice is being fair and honest in our relationships with others.God is Justice
Walk into most courthouses and you see a statute of a woman blindfolded holding the scales of justice in her hand. It is supposed to be fair and available to everyone. Justice is an American ideal.

And yet there are times when justice is not done for any number of reasons - status in society, ignorance, weakness, greed, dishonesty. Justice is a function of the people who administer justice and people are, by definition, imperfect. Therefore, justice on earth is imperfect.

As a lawyer, I have the privilege of representing people who deserve justice. I use my education, experience, skill and aggression to do everything legally possible to deliver justice to my client whether my client is wealthy or poor, educated or uneducated.

For the most part I've been fortunate to obtain just results for my clients, and yet I've had a few heartbreaking cases over the years where justice is not done. And I have to remind myself that justice on earth is not always obtainable, because it is a function of flawed beings.

What About the Justice of God?

God does not do justice. God is justice. He is absolute mercy, perfect beauty, and ultimate truth.

"The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He." - Deuteronomy 32:4:
